The obligation to introduce the OSH is given by the legislation. The employer is obliged to ensure the safety and health of workers at work with regard to the possible risk to life and health that relate to their work.

The employer is obliged to provide a safe and healthy working environment and working conditions. Every employer is obliged to prepare a job classification in accordance with § 37-41 of Act No. 258/2000 Coll., the employer is obliged to organize at least once a year the checks of safety and health of workers in all workplaces, and to remove detected deficiencies, the employer is required to carry an update documentation for occupational health and safety, to ensure the contractual provider of occupational health care and provide the staff training on legal and other regulations to ensure the safety and health at work that complement their expertise and requirements for the job.

WHAT IS FP?

Fire Protection (FP), as well as Occupational Safety and Health (OSH), is a systém of measures of the legislation (Act no. 133/1985 Coll., on fire protection, as amended, Decree n.246 / 2001 Coll., on Fire Prevention) and the employer. The purpose and the goal of FP is to prevent damage or threat of human health at work and the protection of assets of the company.

The obligation to introduce the FP is given by the legislation. Legal entities and individual entrepreneurs must fulfil the obligations in fire protection in all areas that use to run their business.

For fire protection securing the proper integration of the ktivity into the category of fire risk is essential (without increased fire danger, with increased fire risk or high fire risk). Following the classification by operating activities is necessary to have prepared the relevant documentation of fire protection and keep appropriate records (eg. Fire book, reports of inspections).

Employers must prepare and keep up to date fire protection (FP) documentation. In addition, employers must provide staff with proper FP training, review compliance with fire protection regulations through a qualified expert (Section 11(1) of Act 133/1985 Coll.), fire protection officer (Section 11(2) of Act 133/1985 Coll.) or a fire prevention officer (Section 11(6) of Act 133/1985 Coll.), and immediately rectify any shortcomings.

Employers must also create conditions for fire-fighting and rescue operations, provide the necessary quantity and types of fire-fighting and fire safety equipment, observe technical conditions and manuals regarding product and ktivity fire safety and mark workplaces and other locations with relevant safety and warning signs and instructions related to fire protection.
